Hammonton, NJ is a growing community settled in 1812 by William Coffin. Named after his son, John Hammond Coffin, this picturesque community has much to offer, from the shores of its lake to the pine oak forest. Families have made Hammonton their home for generations.
Hammonton is most noted for being known as the “Blueberry Capital of the World.”
Each summer Hammonton plays host to the Red, White and Blueberry Festival. The annual event has been held since 1986 and is famous for their decadent food offerings and a bake-off. Other events that are featured at the festival include family friendly entertainment, a car show, and arts and crafts.
While you stop for the festivities, you may see a Hutchinson’s Plumbing van driving to an ac emergency call or to provide HVAC maintenance services to the local residents. Our expert contractors are always ready to help the residents of Hammonton with their plumbing and heating services, especially during blueberry season.
Blueberries are not all this NJ community is known for. Hammonton annually hosts two major parades, the Halloween and Christmas parades, which draw in residents and tourists alike for their festivities. The Christmas celebration includes a Christmas Tree lighting ceremony that features carolers, a music show, carriage rides, and a live nativity. The kids can also look forward the arrival of Santa in the downtown area.
Historically, Hammonton has also played hosts to presidents as they made stops along the campaign trail. Presidents Ulysses S. Grant and Theodore Roosevelt made whistle stops in their day and Ronald Reagan used Hammonton as the backdrop to a 1984 re-election speech. The town is also the home of the former Second Lady of the United States, Dr. Jill Biden.
Hammonton is no stranger to pop culture as well, local talent is plentiful here. Episodes of popular television shows True Life and Boardwalk Empire have both shot at least partial episodes locally. Hammonton is also the home of American Idol contestant Sarah Restuccio. When Restuccio was on the program, they aired a brief clip of the contestant’s life, including showing her day-to-day life in the town.
The Tomasello Winery, located in the city of Hammonton, was first opened in 1933 at the end of prohibition. It is one of the largest winegrowers in NJ and produces sixty-five cases of wine per year. They are also famous for their non-grape wines which include varieties made from almonds, blueberries, and pomegranates.
After a day at the wineries, you want to be assured you come home to a comfortable and efficient place. Our contractors provide local heating and ac services that come with a guarantee. They also render a written report of everything we will be doing to your HVAC system or plumbing, and every cost is included up front.
