Background

Moorestown Community House (MCH) – founded in 1923 – is a home for all civic, social and recreational activities for individuals, families and organizations. The private, 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization does not receive funding or support from any federal, state, or local government, and is conscious of every penny spent.  When the time was right to upgrade lighting and AC units to ensure a comfortable environment for its tenants and other customers who rent out space for events, MCH looked for options that would not only save on costs but be good for the environment, too.

Solution

After conducting a free energy assessment, Hutchinson determined that through Direct Install – offered by the NJ Office of Clean Energy – MCH was eligible for energy efficient upgrades and incentives that covered 70 percent of the cost to replace outdated lighting and AC units. Through Direct Install, MCH was able to replace outdated equipment and lighting at once, rather than over time.

  • Upgraded the interior of MCH’s lighting to LED.
  • Upgraded the outdoor areas and the parking lot of MCH’s lighting to LED
  • Installation of upgraded, energy efficient AC units.
